Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

Do you love the spaghetti sauce in a jar?  Well making it from scratch is easy and way more delish!!  Brady will show you how!  In this recipe you do use a knife and stove top.  Always make sure your parents are near to help you out.
With parent support, chop the tomatoes into sections.  At this point you can put tomatoes and onion into food processor to finely chop or leave as chunks.

Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium heat.  Add diced onion and tomato to skillet and cook until they start to break apart.  Next put in the spices as well as the olive oil.  Very carefully stir in your flour and cook the mixture until it starts to thicken up.

This usually takes about 5 to seven minutes.  Stir in the water to break up any lumps made by the flour.  Mix garlic into the sauce and simmer another 5 minutes. If you family likes chunky sauce serve as is or put into a blender to make it smooth.

Serve on top of your favorite Type of pasta and enjoy!  We make big batches and freeze some for later.  Why buy when you can make!

  1. Woo hoo! Yum yum, looks wonderful! I appreciate this as Morgan will enjoy making his own as well! If you run into recipes that require home grown eggs, or quail eggs, you know where to go!
